Athletics Canada announces internal nomination procedure for
London 2012 Paralympics
The qualifying window to record performances under the selection criteria opened January 1, and will close June 30, 2012 coinciding with the end of the 2012 Paralympic Track & Field Trials in Calgary, Alta. The Paralympic Track & Field Trials will serve as the selection trials for all events except the marathon. Due to the unique physical demands of the marathon event, performances achieved in 2011 will be considered.
The team size quota, as determined by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) is not yet known, as such, should team size quota not be filled as of June 30, an extended qualifying period will be granted from July 1 to 15, 2012.
